I was filling out the bill when Clara returned to the table.
“Are you giving them a tip, Dad?” she asked.
“Yes, of course.”
“Is it just for the waiter, or can you tip other people here too.”
I looked up. “Just the waiter really. Why? Who would you want to tip?”
She shrugged. “I don’t know who exactly. But I would like to tip the person that finally decided to put real toilet paper in the bathrooms.”
