The other day Clara asked me quite seriously why M&M’s were called “N&M’s” even though she could clearly see two Ms printed on the candy.
I just stared at her, slightly bewildered.
“They should be named with two Ms instead of an N,” she said.
“And then how would you say it?” I asked.
You would say, “N&M… I mean, ENM&M… AN&M&M…” She furrowed her eyebrows at the floor and continued trying to say their name correctly.
“Well,” I said after listening to a few more attempts. “I think I at least have found one the problems. It turns out that your tongue is just as confused as your ears.”
